06.1 What we cover
- Firewalls. Configured, maintained and monitored — the front door to your network, set up properly rather than left on factory defaults.
- Segmented Wi-Fi. Staff, guest and device networks kept separate, so a guest phone or a smart TV can't reach your business systems.
- Secure remote access. VPN or modern zero-trust access (ZTNA) so your team reaches internal resources safely from anywhere.
- Switching & coverage. Wired backbone and access-point placement so there are no dead spots and no bottlenecks.
06.2 Why segmentation matters
A flat network — where everything can talk to everything — means one compromised device can reach them all. Segmentation puts walls between zones, so a breach in one doesn't become a breach everywhere.
